Introduction

As an author and an entrepreneur, I promote my books, which is my obvious starting point. For example, my latest book, The Survival of Reynard, highlights various historical events in the United Kingdom and tells a story about a fictitious red fox trying to survive against all odds in the British countryside.

Although much maligned I have chosen a red fox to highlight many of our failures to protect our wildlife in general in many parts of the world.

I chose the red fox for many reasons, not least its tenacity to survive against the odds in an ever-decreasing wildlife environment. Plus, many foxes have now become known as urban foxes.

They have been hunted for centuries using horseback and packs of dogs; they have been poisoned and shot , and now we are removing thousands of miles of natural landscape, yet through it all, they still find a way to survive.

I have aimed this book loosely at 8—to 12-year-olds, but it seems to be read by people of all ages. So, I hope this will impact future development of natural areas of our landscape before it is too late.

I have published this book in hardback, paperback, and Kindle formats to give everyone a full range of reading options.
